We’ve added a new page that contains all of Emily’s blogs through the City to City Ride from Detroit to Chicago. It’s filled with pictures and a preview to the film that they shot along the trip, so make sure that you check it out!

Before all the bands rocked for CF at this years Just Let Me Breathe benefit, Emily was presented with the Heroes of Hope award that is sponsored by Genetech, Inc. Stacy, a CF nurse from Chicago, flew in to present the national award. A Hero of Hope is someone who has cystic fibrosis and does all of the following on a daily basis:
A hero is a role model who portrays hope and strength
A hero takes intiative and pursues goals and dreams
A hero is motivated to live life to the fullest
A hero has a positive approach to life.
A hero uses his/her skills to help others as well as themselves
A hero contributes to the community
Six people nationwide from CF Doctors, Nurses, patients and family members make up the panel who decide what CF Hero is chosen. Emily was chosen for the month of January and will have a feature on the Heroes of Hope website soon!
As you hopefully know by now, Just Let Me Breathe 2007 was a huge success. 100 more people showed this year, the merch sales doubled and the auction was awesome! All of the bands played their booties off, 89X showed huge love and all of my friends, family, fans, CF patients and local Detroit rockers showed us how to Rock Cystic Fibrosis! I personally thank everyone that was in attendence.
I need to thank the Detroit Free Press for doing two stories, one of which was very extensive and more than I could of hoped for. Also the Detroit News had a spot in the weekend section, thank you! Strut mag had a great story, as well as the Daily Tribune. Detroit Public Radio featured a radio spot with me, 89X was over-genuine and WJR even ran a little radion spot as well. SPIN magazine is running a spot on their website right now. I will definately take the respect from the national press..when Rock CF and Just Let Me Breathe become a national deal, please know that I will remember who was good and who was bad!:)
Rock CF..thank you all again for the support..you know who you are!
XO,
Emily

The 4th Annual Just Let Me Breathe CF Benefit will take place Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Detroit. This is an ALL AGES show with tickets only being $20. South Normal, Hellen, Grande Nationals, Alex Winston, & Stolen Liberty will be rocking the night along. GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!

As with previous years, the night will include a silent auction featuring great music and retail packages, a raffle for a custom made Reverend Guitar and of course the Rock CF and Just Let Me Breathe merchandise. Mark this in your calendar! Over the past three years we have raised $35,000 and about 1,300 people have attended. Lets make this the biggest and best rock show for CF!
Hey guys..some of you may know that I am training for the Turkey Trot, a 10K run that will take place right before the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit. I just ran the 5K part of the Detroit Marathon, so now it’s time for the ole 10K’er. There will be around 12 of us running for the Rock CF Foundation and wearing specially made Rock CF shirts for the race. I will also be running for the Boomer Esiason Foundation and will be wearing one of their runner jerseys with his team Boomer logo on the front and will hopefully my Rock CF stuff on the back.
Here’s the deal: Jerry, who is 50 with CF, works for Boomer Esiason’s Foundation (Boomer’s kid has Cystic FIbrosis too). Jerry, Boomer and I agree that exercise is a main ingredient in the CF cocktail that helps keep us healthy. Jerry started the Exercise for Life scholarship program that will award scholarships for people with CF who participate in sports and exercise to go to college. So people with or without CF can run races and what not, raise money, then it is donated to Team Boomer so CF kids can go to college. Sound cool? It does to me. So if you want to sponsor me for my 10K let me know. Anything from $5-$50 will work..but remember my big Just Let Me Breathe benefit is coming in February, so keep that in mind when you are spending your CF dollars.
Email me for my mailing adress if you want to send cash or checks. You can also drop cash off at any Pure Detroit store or at any Hellen or South Normal (to my bro Jay) shows that will happen before Nov 23.
Thanks!

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Rock CF Foundation has been confirmed for Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Detroit. Hellen and South Normal are confirmed (as always!) and there are talks for 2-3 other HUGE Detroit bands. This is promised to be the BIGGEST JLMB ever. It is the 4th year for the event and it keeps getting bigger every year. Last year we raised $15,000 and we’re gonna top it this year.
Get ready to ROCK CF! If you want to help in ANY way please email me.
Rock CF,
