The Bowman Brothers are a local Metro Detroit Family (Allen Park, MI). Blake Bowman passed away from CF in 2015 in his early teens. Brett, his brother, has CF and had a double lung transplant in 2019. Brett went blind in both eyes right after the surgery but is reclaiming his life by going back to college.
Many people with CF are not cut out for college or never went to college due to a deterioration in their health and therefore a trade school is a great “alternative” to engage & educate people with CF with a skill that will lead to a career. Due to the advancements in medical treatments, many are now faced with having to enter the workforce without proper schooling or a skill. Trade school scholarships solve many of the schooling/career obstacles for people with cystic fibrosis. We are committed to filling the gaps in the community while empowering those to dream big.
This scholarship opportunity is open to adults (18+) living with cystic fibrosis.
Currently, the Bowman Brothers Trade School Scholarship maximum has been awarded for 2024, but you are still welcome to apply in case further funding is received during the year. In the case further funding is received, we will reach out to applicants individually for a status update.
